EASY EXPERT v.s. BRADLEY BAROMETER

BY ALPHEE LAVOIE   MARCH 6, 2003

One of the major weaknesses of the Bradley Barometer is that it will not determine whether the turning point on the graph will be a top or a bottom. The Easy Expert module in our Market Trader Platinum software addresses this weakness to give more indications as to which way the market has the greatest potential to turn.

With our Market Trader you can calculate the Bradley Barometer, and  then use the Easy Expert to calculate the strength of the stock going up or down.  The Red arrows indicate that the market has a potential strength to go up and blue arrows show the potential to go down.  In the Easy Expert we calculated all the strength potentials using a sophisticated, statistical algorithm. We have many financial traders using our Platinum program who tell us that that Easy Expert module alone is worth three times the price of the program.

If you take a look at the following graph notice that there is a magenta line graph.  This is the Bradley Barometer calculated according to Bradley’s method and weights. The black line graph is the actual price of the Dow Jones.  The red and blue arrows were calculated using the Easy Expert module of the Platinum Market Trader Program.

Notice that the Bradley graph at point No. 1 on the graph indicates a bottom, but actually it was a top.  Notice the arrows of Easy Expert   Just before the turning point of the Bradley graph, there is a very strong concentrated of red arrows indicating and up in the stock.

At position 2,  the Bradley shows a top, but actually it was a bottom.  Again check the Easy Expert.  Just before the Bradley turning point the blue arrows indicate a bottom.

Position No. 3 shows a bottom on the Bradley but check out the red arrows indicating a top.  For Position No. 4 Bradley indicates a top; again check out the blue arrows just before the turning point indicating a bottom.  The same holds true for Positions 5, 6, 7.  The Easy Expert arrows indicate a bottom position for point 7 and out of all of these points this is the only one that Bradley also shows as a bottom.

As you can see the Easy Expert can really emphasize the Bradley weakness.  But again take the Bradley graph completely out and just use the Easy Expert arrows. I think it's far superior to indicate when the stock will go in a strong up or down mode.  I like the Bradley but it is easy to see that the Easy Expert can stand alone on its own.  And, on further inspection,  the Bradley Barometer has missed many turning points on this graph.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Easy Expert Module is just one of many predicting modules that we have in our Market Trader Millennium series of 4 programs.

In the past month Sergie has done a tremendous amount of research on methods of the Bradley Barometer. He is now in the process of writing a sophisticated computer program exclusively around the Bradley techniques. I can assure you the everyday I can smell some of his brain cells smoking!  We will keep you informed on all the progress that were making in that direction.
